UPCYCLING FRENCH LINENS : A New Life for A Vintage French Sheet
At Love French Style Blog, I’ve a linen cupboard full of beautiful vintage French linens that I’ve collected over the years. I use my antique French linens as tablecloths, bedcovers and throws for the sofas. I hate to part with any of them but I do sell some on Etsy at my vintage linens shop. The ones I keep I try and turn into something new by re-purposing them into something useful and beautiful in one.
I thought I’d share my latest creation with you using fabric paints and stencils to create a nice rustic French nautical touch that’s so in keeping with French country farmhouse style. So, voila, here’s my handmade antique French linen cushion cover creation – c’est joli n’est ce pas?*
These metal stencils were a great buy from Amazon as they sit nice and still on the fabric while you add the colour.
Sew the cushion together…and ta-dah! You could add any numbers to yours, these are personal to me and I think of that special someone every time I snuggle into this lovely soft pillow. I’m so pleased with how they look.
My current collection is available here if you fancy trying your hand yourself, you could also use old items of clothing and bedding too. Happy making.
