Say Bonjour to the weekend with Love French Style Blog #Friday
#1 Eat : La Cremiere Jersey Salted Caramel Sauce
If you’ve ever visited France and tried salted caramel you’ll stand as witness to how delicious it is. Don’t be put off by the combination of sugary caramel with a rock salt chaser- it’s a food fusion that’s been enjoyed here for centuries and it’s pretty on-trend right now. Jersey Salted Caramel Sauce is the island of Jersey’s variety and you can buy it here from The Food Market £9.90 for two 250ml bottles. Mondays could be so much more cheerful with a bottle of this in your life!
#2 Bake : A Warming Coq au Vin
Here’s a great recipe for coq au vin from BBC Food by Angela Nilson that’s easy to follow and requires minimal ingredients. This is a great dish to prepare in your dressing gown on Saturday morning to enjoy with a lovely glass of Pinot Noir £8.99 at Waitrose come night fall.

#3 Buy : Lilycollar Floral Collar Jersey Top, Joules £19.95
As my post on Japanese decluttering with Marie Kondo proved this week, a girl can never own too many stripy tops. This pretty Joules striped top has a ditsy print Peter Pan collar, how lovely is that? And, because it’s Black Friday ( whatever that is) it’s half the price. Even lovelier!
#4 Try : Montessori Activities With Your Toddler at Home
I discovered this week that my 3.5 year old is shy at school so I’m trying a few new things at home to bring out the best in him. Montessori learning is Italian but very popular in France, you can read more about the principles here. One tip I gleaned was to tell children true stories instead of reading them to sleep, what a brilliant idea. Another was to enjoy walking at a snail’s pace and see the world around you as they do. I’m definitely doing that one, that little hand won’t want to hold on tightly to mine forever x
Have a great weekend x
