Bonjour! Friday’s here and on #leweekend edit this week I’m going to invite you to pop into a Marks and Spencer shop! Not only might you find something absolutely scrumptious for dinner but you’re sure to find some fabulous items for your French style home too. I am loving their homewares collection for Easter. Here are a few of my faves, so much French chic style to love!
#1 Chic Paris Style Pendant Lights.
I went through a phase of really not loving ceiling lights didn’t you? Now, I’ve left the “big light” hate days behind and I’m all for a chandelier or a nice French style pendant light over a table. The key is to get the lighting right with the bulbs, tricky with so many of the low energy ones casting a bit of a dim light but there are good bulbs to be had to create the right ambience. Here’s a lovely pendant light from M&S in black and copper, yum.
#2 Make a Really Great G&T
I love a nice G&T but it would appear I am becoming a bit eccentric with my gin tastes these days, I really don’t like all that many and the choice of Gins available in France is frankly poor. So, I urge you to spend a little more on a nice Gin if you can – lace your glass with cucumber, lemon and ice and enjoy a delicious G&T in front of the fire before Sunday lunch this weekend. This is a fabulously named Gin with £5.00 off at M&S, although I don’t know if I’d drink it in the bath personally?
I love the smell of Lily of the Valley, Hyacinths, Muscari and all those lovely spring bulbs. I think these would make a lovely Easter flower gift for someone or as a lovely treat for your Easter lunch table.
#4 Painted Dining Room Chairs
I painted our dining table chairs many moons ago simply because they weren’t all that great to begin with but it was a bit of a bind – all those spindles and drips! I love the lightness and modern edge a painted chair brings especially to a dining room as they’re so often a bit dark. There are some really lovely ready painted chairs around and I think these in stone are so pretty.
#5 Some Pretty Chic Easter Table Settings
I think it’s so nice to dress up the family dining table for special lunches like Easter. I love a nice rustic look with a bit of glam thrown in. Marks and Spencer homewares has a lovely collection of table linen including these pretty French style stripe tablecloth and napkin sets. I think setting off the table with some elegant wooden candle holders would be just perfect with a naughty little scattering of delicious chocolate eggs for everyone to finish.
Have a fab weekend! x
