Handvärk is a truly Danish brand and the design genius of Emil Thorup, a talented Danish designer and architect. Modern French interiors take a lot of inspiration from the Scandily clad homes of the Danish and Swedish which favour the natural rustic interior trend. It’s a look that works across all homes and colourways. Emil Thorup is passionate about using natural materials and they’re always at the heart of his designs.
“For a number of years, the Danes have shown incredible skills in woodwork, however, I found myself missing an alternative, in which other natural materials could be the cornerstone of the design. I am incredibly fond of metals and stone and felt that we were lacking a brand daring enough to experiment with these kinds of materials, whilst still sustaining the simple and applicable Nordic DNA.”
Handvärk uses stone, slate and wood to create simple, graceful designs that work just as well in a modern French chateau as a sleek city apartment. Some of the best rustic French interiors use natural fibres contrasted with wood to achieve a lived in look that’s stylish and timeless.
I love this marble topped table from the current Handvärk collection, imagine how beautiful it would look with an array of pretty rustic objets. An investment piece but a very elegant way to work the natural rustic interiors look with style.
We love a natural table setting here at Love French Style Blog…
This beautiful modern rustic Danish interior featured on Style Juicer is a lovely example of the simplicity of Danish interior design. I find the Nordic natural trend so peaceful and serene.
And I adore these olive wood chopping boards, you can find similar at John Lewis here.
