Coucou all of you! How have you been? So sorry for my absence, I’ve been taking some time out with the family these past few weeks and getting ready for the big summer holidays. Have yours broken up from school yet? ( Any ideas how we are all going to make it through?!)
Here’s a few little virtual post it notes for you to pop on the fridge for the weekend! Have a good one!
#1 Phone A Friend
Above : Woody and Harriet firm friends at 1 and 5 months!
It may seem rather obvious but I’d like you to take time to speak to your best friend this weekend if you can. I’ve watched little Woody making new friends this school year in a foreign language and it’s been a real struggle for him expressing his true self and winning over his peers. We’ve now got to work really hard on his language skills to give him as much confidence as possible so he can join in more in class and, well, let his bossy talkative side rip. It got me thinking about my own time at school and how I loved it and my little friends so much. Some of them I haven’t seen since I was 10 years old but we have a strange connection that keeps us all together – like being part of a rather special secret club!
It’s true that having great friends around you does rather make the world a sweeter place doesn’t it? So, go on, invite them over for a drink this weekend, laugh your socks off and enjoy the magical thing that friendship is x
#2 Muscat Sec – Awesome Aperitif White Wine
On the subject of drinking wine I thought I would share with you my new love of Muscat Sec. So, I’ve had Muscat before which is a rather sweet aperitif or dessert wine but didn’t realise you could actually get a dry version too. Here is a nice looking Muscat Sec from Fine Wines Direct UK priced at £9.99 – santé!
#3 Shop a Sparkly Gold Spot Top in Boden Womenswear Sale

#4 Ever tried French Faisselle?
I recently was served up some Faisselle as part of a cheeseboard in a french restaurant and it was so delicious I had to share it with you. Much like the British version Cottage Cheese but slightly more runny, Faisselle also tastes surprisingly good with brown sugar or Jersey salted caramel sauce – oh, and t’s a dream come true with fresh fruit. Here’s a little recipe for making French Faisselle Cheese by gorgeous Tartelette Blog.
#5 Magic Microdermabrasion Treatments in Charente
Image : Skinbase
So, I’ve basically had a little work done! Nothing too radical, just a little non surgical lift! Claire Jones from Vata Beauty is the most awesome beautician I have ever met, I just love her! She’s introduced me to an incredible facial treatment called Microdermabrasion, also known as the lunchtime peel. Claire offers Microdermabrasion from her Spa and Treatment Rooms in Poitou Charentes. In her words it basically does this…
Microdermabrasion is a system of intense exfoliation and resurfacing using ultra fine crystals that rejuvenate the skin. The crystals work as a gentle abrasive on the skin to remove dead skin cells layer by layer. The treatment polishes the skin and is often referred to as the ‘lunchtime peel’. The vacuum action of the machine stimulates the circulation and promotes increased blood flow to the area. The production of collagen and elastin is stimulated, which results in a firmer, more youthful looking skin.
Seriously, it takes years off, try it! You can contact Claire at Vata Beauty on (+33) 6 81 14 33 78
Have a great weekend all x
